End of the World - What are You Eating?

Friday, 21 October 2011

Did you expect the world to end today? Nah, me either. It did get me to thinking about what I'd like to eat for my "last supper", if indeed it had ended today. Comfort food.

That's what I would have wanted most for my last meal. Comfort food. To be more precise, my Mom's meatloaf, mashed potatoes, corn, and cornbread. Yum. She makes the most delcious homemade meatloaf! It's so moist and juicy and savory. I'm drooling right now thinking about it.

Okay, I'm not literally sitting here a slobbering mess, but you know what I mean. And everyone loves my Mom's mashed potatoes. They're so rich and creamy. I don't know of a child that has eaten her mashed potatoes, that doesn't love them.

However, my Mom lives too far away for me to have her famous (to those of us who have had the privilege of trying it) meatloaf as my last meal.

So, what do I want for my last meal before the world ends? Okay. I got it. Now remember it's my last meal, so calories don't matter -- no calorie counting here. And without further ado:

O'Charley's California Chicken Salad - Yes, it's a meal all to itself, but it's my LAST meal. This is what I always get at O'Charley's.

Red Lobster's Cheddar Buscuits - I got to have bread with my last meal, and I can't think of any better then these buscuits.

Dixie Stampede's Creamy Vegetable Soup - I haven't eaten this soup in a long time, but I still think it's one of the best soups ever.

Johnny Carino's Italian Restaurant Jalepeno Garlic Tilapia - One of my all-time favorite entrees.

Olive Garden's Black Tie Mousse Cake - The perfect ending to any meal and for the last day on Earth. I love this dessert!

There you have it... my perfect meal for when the "end of the world" does happen.  I still would prefer my Mom's meatloaf, though. What would be on the menu for your last meal?

I love the biscuits! It's weird because I don't really like anything at Red Lobster except for the biscuits. So my parents bring me some when they go to Red Lobster! And oh my god the cake is my favorite dessert!

Funny when I saw that cheesecake, because my last meal would also include an Olive Garden cheesecake. But mine would be the raspberry one. Smile I'd also have pizza, lots of pizza.

Good choices! I think my last meal would include McDonalds fries, a Del Taco strawberry shake, Carrabba's steak marsala w/ caesar salad, some NY deli items and of course, some fresh chocolate chip cookies & cheesecake!
