Fourteen days down, seventy-six days to go... in my ReVabs 90-Day Challenge

Yay! I survived the first two weeks of my ReVabs 90-Day Challenge! I mean survive because I really had a difficult time with NO carbs. NO starches. NO dairy. NO salt. BUT, it really was worth it.

I've been having stomach issues for some time now... and for the last two weeks I haven't experienced any trouble at all. Now, I'm not sure if it's the dairy or if it's gluten (breads/grain/wheat). So I'll be slowly adding those back in and see what I have a problem with.

I felt good up until day nine. From that point on, I felt tired. Low energy. I know it was the lack of carbs. I think that was the hardest part for me. As for the exercise, I'm doing it all, but am still following along with the girl that does the moderations. Which means "easier" ways to do the exercises. I'm working up to it. And I can definitely tell a difference.

Anyway, it was just 14-days. Anyone can survive 14 days. I know if I can do it, anyone can do it. I am glad that I can add 300 more calories a day now, though. This makes me a happy camper!

Alright, for the weigh in this morning I was a little disappointed because I had hoped to lose 10+ lbs. I did not cheat once nor miss one workout. If anything, I think I may have eaten too few calories. Okay, back to my weigh-in. Drumroll please..... I had a 7.5 lb loss. Not shabby, I guess. However, my hubby, who is doing it with me, lost 13 lbs. I am truly happy for him. But, sheesh!!! It's just so much easier for men to drop the pounds.

As for measurements, I only took my waist measurements this morning, and I've lost 2 inches. When I do the 45-day check in, I'll list all my measurements. And for my 45-day weight-loss goal - I'd like to lose between five to seven more pounds. Honestly, I'd love to lose a lot more than that, but I'm trying to be realistic.

Again, I'd really love to have any tips, or words of encouragement you'd care to offer.  I'll continue to update from time to time with how my progress is going. And if you'd like to join me and start your own 90-Day challenge, you can get it here.

Good job to you and Greg. You always lose the most to start then it dips, but if you don't eat enough then you can actually stop losing and even gain. It's a pain in the ass, but try to snack all day long and make your main meals small as well. Last time I gained weight, I lost all of it in 3 months. I had gained 35 pounds over a couple years and lost 18 my 1st week and then lost the rest slowly over the rest of the time. The 1st week was the hardest and then I just went on a sensible healthy eating plan. Grilled chicken, broccoli, asparagus, a steak once/twice a week, fish, shrimp, veggie pizza, etc. Of course exercise helped out greatly and I gained some weight (muscle) from doing that, but overall had a loss. Energy went up drastically as well.

Keep up the good work, both of you, and how you feel physically is such a reward.

Did I win anything again? lol

@Steven - Thank you! Just the fact that I've gained so much weight to begin with is really difficult for me. I never had weight problems before (other than being too skinny). Smile And now that I'm slightly more mature in age, I'm having a tough time getting it off. I do love to eat and over the last 4 years I've spent more and more time with my butt seated in front of a computer screen... so the weight just started piling on. But I am feeling better just knowing that I'm headed in the right direction, now.

Thanks for the tips and kind words!

AWESOME work. My husband and I are doing RevAbs together too(blogging too). He's lost more too, so irritating but I'm happy for him to be loosing. First two weeks were killer for me also but week three got better until I hurt my knee(gained weight that week) but week 4 is going well. I'm only saying this to encourage you. You can do it if I, who is one of the most lazy people I know, that you can do it.
look forward to reading more updates. CONGRATS on finishing 2 weeks. Smile

@Erica - Thank you so much! I am trying to focus more on the inches and how my clothes are fitting, than the number on the scales.... it's a little tough though. Smile

Checking out your blog now. Good luck to you and your hubby on your "challenge"! You guys are doing AWEsome!
