Tonight on 20/20 Barbara Walters chats with French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy about her musical career, romantic life and marriage to the French President, Nicolas Sarkozy.

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy is not your typical first lady.  Born into one of the wealthiest families in Italy, she is heir to a tire company fortune, a former super model and a singer/songwriter who has had three chart-topping albums in France.  She's had relationships with both Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton. 

And three months after meeting French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, they married.  Carla isn't your typical First Lady and France seems to love it that way.  She had nude photos released of her (taken 15 years prior) while she was meeting the Queen of England.  Most definitely not your typical First Lady. 

If the "Carla Effect," as it's known in Paris, is any indication, then she is holding her place just fine. Bruni-Sarkozy has charmed the French as well as the rest of the world on her state visits and at times upstages her husband.

She hopes to charm America with the release of her new album next week.  Which I think she will.  She is a beautiful, smart and charming woman.
