Randy Pausch Dies - His "Last Lecture" Will Live On To Inspire

Friday, 25 July 2008

Randy Pausch, a Carnegie Mellon University computer scientist whose "last lecture" about facing terminal cancer became an Internet sensation and a best-selling book, died Friday, July 25, 2008.  He was 47.  According to the Associated Press.

He died from a long bout with pancreatic cancer.  Pausch lobbied Congress for more federal funding for pancreatic cancer research.  A very aggressive and deadly cancer.

I watched Randy Pausch on "Oprah" recently, as he gave his last lecture, and I was in tears.  I was so moved by him.  By his spirit and zest and love of life.  If you haven't had the privilege to listen to his lecture I highly recommend you do:  http://www.cmu.edu/randyslecture/  He also had an update page you can check out.

His wife and three children have lost an amazing father and dad but I think he left them a legacy of hope.  My thoughts and prayers are with the Pausch family today. I am thankful I tuned in that day to hear your lecture.  Rest in peace, Randy Pausch.
