A commercial I saw last night brought back a humorous memory, that I would like to share with you today. It has to do with the funny, humorous and downright hilarious things that kids can say.
My story starts sixteen years ago when my nephew was three years old. He is now a nineteen-year-old young man. In the summer of 1992, I was visiting my mother while she was babysitting my nephew. My nephew (who I will refer to as B.), had one of those containers with the magnifying lenses on it to collect bugs in. Well here B. comes into the kitchen with his container with a spider in it, proudly proclaiming it was his new pet.
So I innocently ask him what his Spider’s name was and he even more innocently replied ‘Yeast Infection’. I was on the floor with laughter. I laughed so hard I was crying and it took some time before I could stop. Luckily B.’s personality is / was such that he just laughed along with me.
You see earlier he had been watching TV and saw one of those commercials about yeast infection medications (which by the way, if you hadn’t gathered yet, is the type of commercial I saw last night that triggered this memory). The things that kids say!
